Harbour Light's 20th Anniversary Reunion Cruise!

Alaskan Lighthouse Adventures in Paradise

Here is a list of the 2011 Alaskan Lighthouse Adventure's very own Exclusive "Add On" Shore Excursions. These excursions are NOT offered anywhere other than right here with and wait until you experience what Rod has come up with for you this year!  Everyday will be like being on an excursion for this cruise from leaving Pikes Place Market in Seattle's downtown Bay Front to a lazy day at sea, to the pristine serenity of cruising Alaska's "Inside Passage", you will be thoroughly amazed and entertained as we pass by between forty and sixty lighthouses along this Alaskan Lighthouse Adventure!

As you might be aware this cruise makes stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria BC, as well as cruising the Inside Passage and a beautiful cruise up the Tracy Arm Fjord to the Sawyer Glacier.  When we are not cruising along onboard the Celebrity Cruises Infinity we will be docked for a day at one of our ports of call. In each of these ports we have arranged opportunities for you to join us, the option is yours, on any of four exclusive & private shore excursions.

ALA - Ketchikan, Alaska

During this Shore Excursion, enjoy a short, narrated tour through Ketchikan, Alaska after we leave the ship dockside en route to the tour guide's private dock. Once onboard you'll be able to relax in the heated main cabin or enjoy the open-air observation deck as we embark to circumnavigate the historic Guard Island Lighthouse, established in 1903 and now home to a family of Harbor Seals. Next up will be a visit to the floating Umatilla Lightship. Not only will you  be up close with the lighthouses but along the way we'll be able to view 10 eagles nests, abundant eagles and other wildlife that may include Humpback and Orca whales, sea lions, deer, bear, salmon and wolves. Fully narrated by knowledgeable lighthouse captains this excursion will also include hot beverages, soft drinks, salmon spread, crackers, cheese, fresh fruit and cookies are yours to enjoy, all included.

ALA - Juneau, Alaska

There's more to Alaska than just pretty "cool" lighthouses, so what would our journey be if you didn't get to see some of the other benefits of being in Alaska? Join us on a narrated motorcoach ride to view and photograph the famous Mendenhall Glacier.  At the newly renovated Visitor Center you’ll have the opportunity to talk with Forest Service interpreters, and through     (Picture By: Mark Kelly)   interactive exhibits learn about the awesome force of glacial ice. Then it's back aboard our chartered motorcoach where we’ll take the scenic route through the Mendenhall Valley.  At Auke Bay we’ll board a waterjet-powered catamaran specially designed for wildlife viewing. Relax in the warm, comfortable, spacious main cabin, surrounded by large windows as your experienced captain guides you through the island-studded waters on our way to visit two lighthouses, Point Retreat and Sentinel. We'll spend 20-30 minutes viewing both of these wonderful lighthouses and as we make this journey our guide has planed a visit to some of the best "whale watching" areas in Alaska! Our tour operator has even guaranteed me we'll see a whale. The vessel is restroom equipped, will have binoculars and souvenir route maps available, along with complimentary snacks and beverages.

ALA - White Pass Summit Railroad Excursion

Any "Train Buffs" in the Group?

Now here's an opportunity for an unforgettable journey, aboard one of the most “Scenic Railway in the World”, to the White Pass Summit. We'll begin our excursion by  boarding our own "Private Car" connected to the train right next to the Infinity, "Dock-Side"! From Skagway we'll travel 20 miles from sea level to the Summit of the White Pass at 2,865 foot elevation! Along the way you will be able to relax in one of private old-fashioned parlor cars as we retrace the original route to the White Pass summit, passing Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point and Dead Horse Gulch. Enjoy a breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, trestles and historic sites. See the original Klondike Trail of ‘98 worn into the rocks, a permanent tribute to the thousands of souls who passed this way in search of fortune.  This journey takes around 3 1/2 hours for the round trip so Rod has arranged to "stock" the private car with refreshments and snacks, maybe even a nice surprise of two! With this optional excursion you will be able to choose from either the 8:15 am departure or the afternoon departure at 12:45 pm. Either one these excursion time will leave you with plenty of time to visit this wonderful little port and to plan a meal accordingly.

"Grand Finale"

ALA - Victoria, BC

Unfortunately this is our last stop, so let's do it right! This exclusive opportunity will take you on a short walk from the Infinity to where we can all get "up close & personal" with the first of two lighthouses we will be visiting, Ogden Point Breakwater. Completed in 1916, Ogden Point Breakwater was marked the following year by a square, white pyramidal concrete tower that displayed an occulting white light at a height of forty feet above high water. From Ogden Point we'll board our chartered buses and have a short "narrated" drive through Victoria on our where to a private viewing of the Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site. There we will visit the newly renovated Fisgard Lighthouse museum. Inside the building are two floors of exhibits, dealing with shipwrecks, storms, far- flung lights, and the everyday working equipment of the light keeper a century ago. Right next to the tower stairs on the second floor, a specially-made video evokes the loneliness and isolation that was the lot of the l9th century keeper. After our visit to Fisgard it's back on our buses for a little narrated sightseeing through the streets of Victoria with a stop or two along the way back to the ship for photo opportunities. For those joining us on this exclusive excursion we will have an early dinner onboard the Infinity prior to our departure as well as added refreshments along the way, because you know after a week on the cruise ship we wouldn't want anyone to go hungry, now would we!
