Rod's "Dog House" Cruise
Day 1 - Flight arrival and Cruise departure!
"Every bit as cosmopolitan as Seattle, with a distinctive European flair, Vancouver is the Canadian jewel of Puget Sound. From the cobblestone streets of the Gastown district to Little Italy and Chinatown, Vancouver has something for everyone!"
Off and running at 4:00 am to catch my flight, "chauffeured" by the my lady Vicki, who still is not happy about my journey. My short flight to Seattle found Mt Rainer looking good with a nice layer of fog and there's my plane!
Next stop was the Vancouver Airport where I landed at 9:55 am, made my way through customs and caught a cab the pier in a record 20 minutes! Once at the pier next stop is "Check-In"! Make sure you do "On-Line" check in before you leave home, it will saves you time and frustration when you are at this point!
Once onboard, at 11:20 am, I met up with my "Fearless Leader" and it was off to my new home for two weeks, a very special, and I do want to thank everyone who was involved, "crews quarters" cabin!
This is my new home, and I me very fortunate to have it all to myself, thank you "Anna"! I have all the comforts of the finest "Dog House" in the world, and I only say that because according to my Honey, that's where I'm at! You'll notice my travel companions already hogging the bed, for a closer look, and to meet my best friends that are on my bed (not the girls below) look in the link bar on the left and click the "thumbnail" image!
Now these young ladies are part of the entertainment, which I am now allowed to see, but here during the every exciting "Muster Drill" they are giving everyone instructions on how to put on the life vests. This happens to be the very first time onboard the Millennium that guest did not have to put on their own vest and go out the the life boats, something new in the cruise industry that allows us to have the mandatory muster drill without the fun of putting hem on.
The Vancouver, BC, skyline!
This view from the Celebrity Cruises "Millennium" looking out to downtown Vancouver! This image you can click on to see a larger image if you like. The image below is as we are headed out looking back to Vancouver, beautiful view, beautiful weather, it's too bag that I am in the Dog House or else I could have really enjoyed this day, maybe next time my Honey will get to come with me!
Here's the "Sail-a-Way" entertainment! Pool-side with "The Frontiers" and Ocean Cafe Bar, 10th deck "aft" with Anton Marlokov, more on Anton to come!
Well beside all the above it was the food, entertainment and catch-up time with a best friend, see you tomorrow!
